Since the early 1970s, Real Books have provided jazz classics and standards for small jazz groups around the world. To help modern musicians approach some of these jazz standards with a fresh perspective, Hal Leonard is proud to present The Reharmonized Real Book. By re-tooling songs featured in the original Real Book, the Reharmonized Real Book shows new options on how melodies can be harmonized. Starting with a blank Real Book with only the melodies included, editor Jack Grassel reharmonized 393 songs, giving some songs fewer changes, some more changes, some different alterations, and some songs a more modern sound. Rather than replace the original Real Book, The Reharmonized Real Book will work in tandem with it and improve performances for jazz musicians around the world.
